Sava Dunes is located just north of the village of Tofo, along the picturesque Inhambane coastline in Mozambique, and can be reached by road or air.
Sava Dunes is located on an untouched stretch of the Inhambane coastline in Mozambique. It is situated just north of Tofo (roughly 5.5 km) and quite close to the south of Barra beach (1.5 km).
While you can get to the Save Dunes via road, we highly recommend flying in. Our Destination Specialists can arrange your flight to land at either Vilanculos or Inhambane, where a road transfer will get you straight to the lodge.
If you would prefer to make your own way there, Sava dunes is indeed a self-drive destination, but only experienced 4x4’ers should attempt this route as the roads are incredibly sandy and the location is very remote and off the grid.
As frequent travellers to Mozambique will tell you, it takes a certain level of skill to navigate this wonderfully rugged and untouched landscape.
