Learn about the cultural history of the region and the legacy of the slave trade.
Relax in the hammock on the deck of your chalet and admire the tranquil sea view. Your Mozambique beach accommodation is constructed out of local materials. Enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding or go on a sunset dhow cruise. Enjoy a beach picnic and savour tasty treats freshly prepared by the chef.
Day 1: Johannesburg - Nampula - Baixo do Pinda
On the first day of your Eco-friendly Escape Package, you will catch a flight from Johannesburg O. R. Tambo International Airport to Nampula Airport. There you will complete immigration. You will be met by a driver who will take you to the Ilha de Mozambique pier (2.5 hours) followed by a 30 minute boat cruise to the lodge in Mossuril Bay.
Once you have arrived in the late afternoon and settled in, have a stroll along the beach, enjoy refreshing sundowners and a tasty dinner before planning the next day.
Days 2 - 5: Mossuril Bay (Nampula)
Spend the next couple of days of your Mozambique holiday exploring the bay. In the early morning try snorkelling in the shallows and see many juvenile species of fish. Enjoy a tasty breakfast before relaxing on a lounger or heading out during a kayaking expedition.
Set out to explore the peninsula by following the eco-trail or learn about Mozambique's colourful history of local cultures, Arab influences, colonialism and the slave trade.
Discover the beauty of the coastline while sailing in a traditional fishing boat called a dhow. Stay at the Mozambique lodge and lounge on a hammock and read a good book, with a cooling cocktail close at hand.
Search for shells as you take a leisurely stroll along the golden sandy beaches. Couples and honeymooners can be pampered with a rejuvenating massage treatment. Delight in the authentic Mozambique meals served in the restaurant.
Day 6: Memba Bay - Nampula - Johannesburg
Then pack up and be driven back to the Nampula Airport where you will catch a flight back to Johannesburg.
