Chuiba Bay Lodge
Mozambique, Pemba Coastline

Located on a private beach in Pemba, Chuiba Bay Lodge is a luxurious beachside retreat in Mozambique, where relaxation is the order of the day.

Why We Love it and You Will Too

  • Chuiba Bay Lodge is just the place to relax. Surrounded by nature and located right on the lip of a private beach, where you can observe locals fishing with their small dhow boats and nets.
  • Only a few kilometres from Pemba Airport, this is a beach paradise that is easily accessible and is worth every cent spent on it.
  • When the tide goes out, vast stretches of the white sandy beaches and lagoons are ripe for a romantic walk, or for simply exploring with the kids.
  • This Pemba beach lodge in Mozambique is tastefully decorated with natural furnishings and plenty of spaces to relax. Whether reading a book by the pool or dozing off on one of the beach-beds, the emphasis is high on relaxation.
  • The Portuguese owners Delios and Maria will make you feel right at home. They are always open for conversation, and very willing to offer more information about travelling in Mozambique and the local area.

Your Chuiba Bay Lodge Experience

Chuiba Bay Lodge is ideal for a very relaxing Mozambique getaway with plenty of sunshine, warm water and high-end hospitality. It’s one of our go-to recommendations if you’re finishing up on your safari but want to spend the last few days of your trip by the beach.

It’s within easy reach from Pemba Airport, just 15 minutes’ drive away, but far enough from the crowds. Nestled on a private beach, you can walk out along the water's edge for miles and still feel like you’re the only person there.

We also love that the owners are still involved in the day-to-day operations of this luxury Pemba accommodation. Delio and Maria are a Portuguese couple who helped build the place from the ground up and work hard to make sure you are always comfortable and at home. They are always open for a chat, and will gladly offer up some of their knowledge of the local area.

Apart from their warm hospitality, the meals served at their on-site restaurant will truly make your stay memorable. The food is off the charts too, with dishes prepared using the freshest farm-to-fork, or should we say sea-to-spoon ingredients, think fresh Marlin, prawns and calamari. Yes, please!

There are two swimming pools on-site, but the lure of the ocean is hard to resist. At low tide, you can explore the shallow pools with their bounty of fish, crabs, sea urchin and starfish. Kayaks and snorkelling equipment is also available for you to use.
