Fly:
Fly-in guests can hire a car on landing in Johannesburg or Durban and then travel to Kosi Bay. Alternately, air charter can be arranged to Tembe Elephant Reserve or Manguzi Airport (1.5 hours from Johannesburg or 1 hour from Durban) from where Ponta Mamoli staff can transfer guests to the resort.
Drive:
Guests can travel from Johannesburg or Durban in regular vehicles to Kosi Bay border post, but a 4x4 is required to travel in Southern Mozambique. Ponta Mamoli Resort can arrange transfers from Kosi Bay border post where there are secure parking facilities available for a small daily fee. Maputo transfers are available via an extended operator on request.
Johannesburg to Kosi Bay:
The total distance is ± 685km / 426 miles. Visitors driving from Johannesburg to Kosi Bay travel via Ermelo, Piet Retief, Pongola, Jozini, Kwangwanase (Manguzi) to the Kosi Bay border and then on to the resort (minimum 7 hour drive).
Durban to Kosi Bay:
The total distance is ± 525km / 326 miles. Visitors from Durban travel north to Empangeni, Hluhluwe, Mkuze, Jozini, Kwangwanase (Manguzi) to the Kosi Bay border and then on to the resort (minimum 5 hour drive).
