Anglers will be delighted with the possibilities at Rio Azul where professional and experienced staff can assist and arrange big game fishing, lure fishing, saltwater fishing as well as surf and fly fishing on a catch and release programme which is a conservation practice.

Each room has its own estuary boat which is a huge bonus when sea conditions are not optimal for other pursuits, guests can fish in peace out of the wind in the unspoilt estuary. Rio Azul is built over the water and is 2km (just over a mile) from the river mouth.

The main lodge has a beautiful wooden deck and a plunge pool, wonderful views of the estuary, lounge, dining area and bar, the interiors are modern with inviting sofas and chairs. There is also a small shop where guests can purchase items like batteries, hats, sun block, lures, fishing line and other tackle.

Less experienced anglers are welcome and Rio Azul is happy to help and give lessons, fishing gear is normally available for hire. Non fishing guests can enjoy the pristine beaches, kayaking, bird watching and fabulous snorkelling in warm waters, excursions by dhow and a boat trip to a nearby island are also on offer.
