Scuba Diving Explorations

Surrounded by the warm, clear waters of the Quirimbas Archipelago an underwater world is begging to be explored. Explore nearby reefs, only accessible from Medjumbe Island, in intimate small groups and relish the beauty of pristine corals surrounded by bright colourful tropical fish.

Sink down onto Sambi Sambi’s large coral mount, a pinnacle with steep sides rising up from the great depths, glide over a 12m plateau as you slowly ascend and end the dive on a safety stop at 5m on top of the mount - the perfect multilevel dive. Look for dogtooth tuna, kingfish and passing turtles as you glide along the reefs.

Enjoy an exhilarating wall dive at ‘the edge of reason’ reef, hanging from a 15m ledge that leads to a sheer vertical drop off into the abyss. The wall is covered in giant gorgonian fans, small caves housing giant moray eels and home to groupers the size of the divers.

Scuba Diving Courses

A range of scuba courses are regularly conducted for absolute beginners and for those that wish to improve their underwater skills and knowledge.

Snorkelling

The waters off Medjumbe Island are of such a superb standard that you need not be a scuba diver to enjoy the amazing diversity of the marine riches. There are a number of excellent sites where snorkellers will be able to appreciate the stunning tropical reefs in Mozambique and see whales, dolphins, marine turtles and other exotic marine life.

Self-guided snorkelling takes place off the beach to the coral areas and sand flats; guided snorkelling to the reefs by boat. All equipment is custom-fitted at the Activities Center.
