Day 1: Johannesburg - Vilanculos - Bazaruto Archipelago

On the first morning of your Remote Island Breakaway you will catch a scheduled flight from Johannesburg O. R. Tambo International Airport to Vilanculos. Once immigration has been completed, freshen up in the private lounge before taking a boat transfer to the Bazaruto Archipelago.

Once at the island there’ll be time to settle in to your beach suite, enjoy some refreshing snacks. Have a lazy swim in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean or go for a stroll down the beach. Sip on sundowners and plan the next day’s activities with the hosts before savouring a scrumptious dinner on the deck of your villa.

Day 2 - 6: Bazaruto Archipelago

Spend the next 5 days of your Mozambique holiday exploring the beautiful island. Go snorkelling and discover the underwater wonders of the aquatic realm which includes some of the most beautiful reefs in the world. A truly spectacular adventure is a diving trip to Two Mile Reef, with its abundant hard and soft corals, reef fish, Turtles, Reef Sharks, Moray Eel, Grouper and Stingray.

Take a guided island tour and see the many species of birds that live there, as well as Duiker and Suni. Be spoilt with a delectable hamper of goodies and delight in a picnic in a scenic spot on the beach. Go sailing in a traditional boat called a dhow and enjoy a sunset cruise like the sailors of days gone by.

Discover the unique beaches, freshwater lakes and island culture while on a horseback ride to the dunes of South Point. Savour delectable meals out on the deck in front of your suite or round a roaring bonfire. The chef will create sumptuous meals based around freshly caught local seafood. For dessert why not roast marshmallows on the dying embers.

If you are feeling adventurous why not try your luck at deep-sea fishing in one of the world’s richest fishing grounds. Catch Sail fish, Blue and Black Marlin and King Fish. On your return to the lodge, the chef will be happy to cook your catch for dinner. Alternately, just relax in the shade with a good book; be pampered with rejuvenating wellness treatments and go for leisurely strolls along the endless white beach.

Day 7: Bazaruto Archipelago - Vilanculos – Johannesburg

On the last morning of your Remote Island Breakaway enjoy a last walk on the beach – perhaps collect a Pansy Shell or have a swim before breakfast on the deck. At midday your boat transfer will take you back to Vilanculos. Then a connecting flight will take you to Johannesburg O.R. Tambo International Airport.
