The village of Bilene, Mozambique is a lively spot next to the 11 km lagoon,
10 minutes drive from the magnificent coastline. Bilene is the perfect town for a Mozambique holiday with restaurants, bars and local markets. It offers long stretches of beaches and safe swimming in calm waters for swimming. This town in Mozambique is about 4 hours drive from Nelspruit for 4x4 drivers only.

Villa n’ Banga has a great position, with private beach frontage, on the 11km (7 mile) long lagoon at Bilene, Mozambique. Guests can holiday in peace and privacy, enjoying super water sports on the sparkling water, magnificent sunsets and clear night skies.

The beautiful coast is 2km (just over a mile) away and can be reached by 4x4 only. Here guests can experience long pristine beaches, enjoy fishing or keep a look out for whales and dolphins.

Notes for visitors

There are NO credit card facilities at Villa n’ Banga or in Bilene, guests should arrange in advance a good mix of currencies in cash with South African Rand for crossing at the border. Petrol and diesel is available in Bilene but not at Villa n’ Banga. Boat, Jet Ski and beach licences will need to be purchased in Bilene.

It is very hot in this region, summer temperatures can reach 45 degrees C (113 degrees Fahrenheit) and guests should come prepared with good sunscreen / sun block, hats, sunglasses and so on.

All vehicles and trailers must have at least 2 emergency triangles. A valid driver’s licence and all vehicle registration papers (original or certified) must be supplied, even for boats. Mozambique third party insurance and customs import forms (available at the border) must be carried on the driver at all times. Travelling by road at night is not advisable.

Directions to Villa n’ Banga

Guests need 4x4 vehicles to get Villa n’ Banga. Travelling time from Nelspruit to Bilene takes 4 or more hours. From Komatipoort to Maputo is about 100km (62 miles), the road passes through 2 toll gates, the first is about 50km (31 miles) after Komatipoort and the other is just before Maputo, payment is in Meticas, South African Rands or US$. Maputo to Bilene is 200km (124 miles) from Maputo.

From Maputo, guests must follow the directions to Xai-Xai for 165km (103 miles) to a town called Macia (BP fuel station on left). At Macia turn right off the main road to Bilene. It is about 33km (21 miles) to Bilene.

On entering Bilene travel to the market and just next to the market is a Restaurant called Chin-Chin, turn left into the dirt road and follow the signs Nhabanga / Villa N'Banga 23km (14 miles).
