The town is historic with great restaurants along the beaches. Visitors can shop in the market, admire the colonial architecture and sail on a traditional dhow to Maxixe and back.

The Inhambane coast has some of the best scuba dive and snorkel sites in the world with reefs close to every beach, including the world famous Manta Reef and Gallaria. Pao reef is directly in front of Guiquindo Lodge. There are a number of professional dive operations available. On a Sea Safari guests can snorkel for 2 hours at low tide and then go out to sea in search of Whale Sharks, Turtles and Whales.
Snorkelling at the magnificent Coral Gardens is a ‘must do’. This site is renowned for the Manta Rays that come in to give birth and hundreds of Reef fish, Lion fish, Stone fish, a multitude of Eels, Shrimps, and Crayfish, Cuttle fish, Star fish, Octopus, Nudibranchs and a garden of soft and hard corals. The lighthouse reef, offers calm and protected water on the inner edge, suitable for kids and beginners.
