Safari Experiences at Machampane Wilderness Camp
Machampane Wilderness Camp offers superb guided walks with an armed ranger and field guide plus birding opportunities on a Mozambique safari in Limpopo National Park.
Enjoy exciting walking safaris on wilderness trails as well as game drives at Machampane Camp. This is a new frontier for a Mozambique safari in Limpopo National Park, where Big Five game can be viewed as well as an incredible variety of animal life in its natural habitat.
The walking trails at Machampane Camp are not forced marches into the bush! Your armed ranger and experienced field guide will set the pace and route according to the needs and interests of the group. The trails cover areas around local rivers as well as the Lebombos and sandveld.
The walks take place twice daily and refreshments with snacks are provided en-route. The early morning walk takes between 3 and 4 hours and the afternoon walk takes about 2.5 hours. If preferred a game drive can be arranged in the afternoon instead of a walk.

4x4 Eco Trails
There are 5 excellent trails for 4x4 enthusiasts ranging in length from 2 nights to 9 nights. Most of the trails are led by a lead guide while one is a completely self-guided trail. The trails involve bush camping and self-catering, but on request, catering can be provided and stopovers arranged at proper camps with facilities. The option also exists for trailists to use off-road caravans and 4x4 trailers.
The trail, which is led by an experienced guide, takes place on the Rio Elefantes River and covers a distance of about 50km (31 miles). This 3 night / 4 day trail involves bush camping with catering along the river and is a must do for wildlife viewing and Tiger fishing enthusiasts.
