Ponta D’Ouro activities include swimming with dolphins, snorkelling, kite-surfing, drumming, turtle spotting and hiking to the top of the local lighthouse. This coastline is wonderful for diving and snorkelling amongst exciting sea life. In the evenings, guests can visit local pubs and restaurants or go dancing – there is always a party on.
Lifetime experiences include scuba diving amongst Whale Sharks, Hammerhead’s and Dolphin’s. There are a number of operators in the area and guests without training can also gain their Open Water qualification on a Ponta D’Ouro holiday. The resident Dolphin population of 400 swims up and down the coast and snorkelling with these wonderful animals is a rare pleasure.
Hiking up the local lighthouse on a vertical ascent is an exhilarating adventure. Once at the top, guests can enjoy a fabulous view of the whole coastline and lake systems on the border with South Africa. The Ponta D’Ouro coastline is packed with pristine and mostly deserted beaches.
Shoppers can enjoy some bargaining and browsing at the craft market close to Kaya Kweru – paintings, carvings, clothing and just about anything can be bought here. Other clothing, beach ware stores and gift shops are located in town.
In the mood for some pampering, visit Holistic Heaven, Ponta D'Ouro's onsite Spa. Holistic Heaven offers a variety of treatments such as Massages, Reike Treatment, Crystal Therapy, Aromatherapy, Reflexology and Yoga Classes. So be sure to book an appointment.
